Eben Bayer in factoryWe are proud to announce that former Green Challenge winner Eben Bayer is our newest addition to this year’s expert international jury. He will be joining chairman Steve Howard, Jim Walker, Marty Pickett, Liesbeth van Tongeren and Marieke van Schaik on 10 September at the finale of the 9th edition of the Postcode Lottery Green Challenge, where they will judge the pitches of our five finalists.

Eben Bayer is the CEO and co-founder of Ecovative. In 2008, when he was 23 years old, Eben was the second winner of the Postcode Lottery Green Challenge. He received 500,000 euro to further develop Ecovative. Ecovative is a material science company developing a new class of home-compostable bioplastics based on mycelium, a living organism. Mushroom Materials are high-performance, environmentally responsible alternatives to traditional plastic foam packaging, insulation, and other synthetic materials.
Eben uses biology to create disruptive solutions that are good for people and the planet. He has evangelized a strategy of bio-adaption around the world, including presentations at TED Global, PopTech, and The World Economic Forum in Davos.

Looking at the stellar development Eben and his company have gone through since 2008, his entrepreneurial spirit and expertise, technological know-how as well as him being a former finalist, you can see why we feel he is the perfect addition to the jury.
