We proudly present the 25 nominees who are still in the running to become one of five finalists, one of whom will win €500,000 to further develop their product or service. It's a pleasure to see that start-ups from all over the world come up with great and courageous ideas to fight climate change.

Origin of the start-ups
Representing the African continent are two start-ups from Rwanda, two from Kenya, one from Tanzania and one from Ivory Coast. The American continent is represented by one start-up from Brazil and three from the United States of America. Two start-ups from Asia come from Israel and India. Europe is being represented by 13 start-ups; seven from the Netherlands, two from Denmark and one from France. Sweden, Germany and the United Kingdom are represented by one start-up each.

All these entrepreneurs offer tangible solutions for the challenges the world is facing in the fields of energy demand, food wastage and urbanisation. Curious what these solutions are?

On 15 August the preliminary jury will announce which start-ups will move on to the finale on 14 September.
