Biologist, climate & biodiversity expert
Dr. Christian Hof is a biologist studying the distribution of biodiversity in space and time, with a focus on the effects of climate and land-use change on species and the biodiversity of different animal groups.
Dr. Hof studied biology at the University of Marburg (Germany) after which he conducted his PhD at the University of Copenhagen (Denmark) and the National Museum of Natural Sciences Madrid (Spain). After postdoctoral positions in Copenhagen and Frankfurt (Germany), in 2018 he received a grant by the Bavarian Climate Research Network to lead his hown research group at the Technical University of Munich. From 2015 to 2020, he was a member of the German Young Academy.
